A lap around IIS 7.0

Topic:
Windows Server® 2008 featuring Internet Information Services 7.0 is a powerful Web application and services platform that delivers rich Web-based experiences. It offers improved administration and diagnostic tools to help achieve lower infrastructure costs on a variety of popular development platforms. With improved reliability and scalability, IT professionals and developers can manage the most demanding Web serving environments, from a single Web server to a large Web farm. We will take a lap around the IIS7 in this talk, discuss new/improved features like
Modular Architecture
The new architecture of the Web server takes a componentized approach to functionality, focusing on flexibility and extensibility. This means all the features of IIS 7 are implemented as modules that can not only be added or removed depending on your specific needs, but also completely replaced by your own custom modules. Customers
Comprehensive Extensibility APIs
These custom modules can be developed rapidly and easily in managed code with our own great development tools because the IIS 7 modules were built with a comprehensive set of APIs that provide both native and managed extensibility.
Unified, Distributable Configuration Model
IIS 7 delivers a distributed model for Web configurations where an application’s settings are not tied down to the physical machine but can be stored in a separate config file. All of a site’s IIS, ASP.NET and Indigo configurations can be unified into one file stored alongside it’s code and content in a single site folder.
Efficient, Integrated Administration Tools
There is a new diagnostic subsystem in IIS 7 that your server admins can leverage to quickly identify and resolve problems. IIS 7’s diagnostics provide administrators detailed, real-time information for each request, as it enters the Web server and flows through the application.
