Building a CF Administrator Interface in Flex

Since ColdFusion MX 7 (undocumented in version 6) developers have been able to create their own web based interfaces to the ColdFusion Administrator using the CF Administrator API. With the advent of Flex 2 developers now have the tools to create richer web based applications.
First I'll discuss the CFCs that contain the methods that allow you to access the CF Administrator API. Then I'll show you how I created a Flex 2 interface to some of the more important CF Administrator API functionalities. Then I will show you how I published it to the desktop using Apollo.

I am currently a Senior Web Developer and Instructor of technologies such as; ColdFusion, Flex, Flash, and SQL. I have been programming for over 20 years and was introduced to ColdFusion and Flash back in 1999. Since the pre-release of Flex 2.0 I've begun to spread the "Good News" about Flex and Flex development. Since then, I have never looked back.
Currently I am seeking to create the perfect synergy between the various web technologies such as ColdFusion (server), Flex/Flash (client), and SQL (model).
