Web 2.0: Step Outside the Box - Part II

As I look back at the earlier video footage of my daughter, I can see a definite change in personality and maturity. She like many of us go through phases or “versions”. The web is no different and many believe that it is entering its next phase, dubbed Web 2.0.
In Part I of my Step Outside the Box series I introduced you to how Flash can play a role in this maturing web paradigm. Now, in Part II I will show you how AJAX plays a role. Short for Asynchronous JavaScript & XML, AJAX allows us to communicate with server-side script and refresh just the page content. With the techniques learned in Part I, I will then show you how to “complete the circle” by passing information back into Flash.
Bio:
Artist, writer, and director. The web is my canvas, the technologies I use are my tools, and the applications I create are my works of art. I'm doing what I love and love what I 'm doing.
I am currently a Senior Web Developer and Instructor of technologies such as; ColdFusion, Flex, Flash, and SQL. I have been programming for over 20 years and was introduced to ColdFusion and Flash back in 1999. Since the pre-release of Flex 2.0 I've begun to spread the "Good News" about Flex and Flex development. Since then, I have never looked back.
Currently I am seeking to create the perfect synergy between the various web technologies such as ColdFusion (server), Flex/Flash (client), and SQL (model).
